Featured in Southwest Magazine, The Ambassador Magazine, a publication of the National Italian American Federation. Public work at Mount Olivet Cemetery commissioned by the Archdiocese of Denver, Denver, Sculpture on the Commons, Lakewood, Colo. 2005 completion of a life size depiction of the crucifixion of Christ of The Immaculate Heart of Mary in Northglenn, Colo. Work is also in the permanent collection of the Gerald Ford center.
Artistic Philosophy: The goal of my work is to capture the human condition at a moment in time, not only in the physical sense but also the emotional and spiritual expressions of that moment. My effort is to pull the viewer into that moment as a participant.
I work with an economy of detail because I feel that often time detail can be a distraction from what is being conveyed by the piece as well as the fact that the spontaneity of the moment is reflected more credibly by a piece that is not “overworked.” My work is spent to capture the facial expressions of my figures which can define more of what is going on in the piece than a singular gesture.
I live part of the year in Italy where most of the sculptural treasures of the world are accessible. This influences much of what I do as well as providing an environment conducive to sustained creativity.
