Autumnal hues of softly burnt yellow, fiery crimson and abyssal sapphire serve as the palette of these  paintings. Layering pigmented wash atop one another builds the architecture of each piece. Paint melds with organic materials such as soil, flower seeds and petals — all of which have been collected from my own garden. Consciously removing these materials from my own surrounding landscape and embedding them into the composition adds a personal sense of place. An environment devoid of horizon ahead or ground beneath, but still, somehow, very much a space in which one can inhabit.
